No Crowded Shared Neighbours
On shared hosting, hundreds of accounts compete for the same processor and disk. On an Estonia VPS your cores and memory are dedicated, so a busy site elsewhere never slows down your pages or your checkout.
Estonia VPS Server does not sell shared web hosting. Instead, your websites live on a virtual private server in a Tier III data centre in Tallinn, with dedicated vCPU and RAM that no other customer can touch. It is the hosting model many agencies, startups and e-Resident companies move to once a shared account starts to feel crowded, slow or restrictive.
On your own Estonia VPS you choose the control panel, decide how many sites to host, issue SSL certificates, configure caching and run email for your domains. Each server has an Estonian IP address, IPv6, NVMe or RAID10 HDD storage and a 1 Gbps port with unlimited traffic. Visitors in Estonia, Finland, Latvia and Lithuania load pages from a nearby location, and you keep full control of every setting.

Install the hosting panel you already know, or a free open-source alternative, and manage domains, databases, mailboxes and files from a browser. Prefer the command line? Skip the panel and administer the server directly.
Secure each website with HTTPS using free automated certificates or a commercial certificate if your business requires one. Renewal can be automated so certificates never quietly expire and frighten your visitors with warnings.
Configure page caching, opcode caching and an object cache such as Redis to fit the applications you run. With NVMe storage and dedicated RAM, cached and uncached pages alike load quickly for regional visitors.
Run mailboxes for your company addresses on the same server, or route mail to an external provider and keep the VPS for websites. Either way, you control the DNS records that decide how mail is delivered.
Decide what to back up, how often and where the copies go. Schedule database dumps and file archives to an off-server destination so you can restore a site quickly after a mistake or a compromised plugin.
Shared hosting packs many customers onto one server and divides its resources among them. It is inexpensive, but it comes with limits: CPU and process caps, restrictions on software versions, little control over server settings and the risk that another account's traffic spike or security problem affects you.
We chose not to run shared plans for Estonia. Every website on this platform is hosted on a VPS with dedicated vCPU and RAM. That brings several practical changes:
The trade-off is responsibility. You or your developer will manage updates and security, or you can use a control panel that automates much of the routine work. For most growing businesses, the added control is well worth it.
A control panel turns a bare server into a familiar hosting environment, with screens for adding domains, creating databases, managing email and installing certificates. Because you have root access, the choice is yours.
Well-known commercial panels offer polished interfaces, reseller features and broad documentation. They involve a separate licence fee, so factor that into your budget alongside the VPS plan.
Several free panels provide the essentials: virtual hosts, databases, mail, DNS and certificates. They suit developers and small agencies who are comfortable reading documentation and occasionally using the command line.
Experienced administrators often configure the web server, PHP and database directly, perhaps with configuration management tools. This uses the fewest resources and gives total control.
Whichever route you take, install the panel on a freshly provisioned server, before adding other software, to avoid conflicts. Check the panel's supported operating systems and choose a matching Linux distribution at checkout.
The core of most hosting setups is a web server, a language runtime and a database. Typical combinations include:
Dedicated cores let you set PHP-FPM worker counts based on real capacity rather than guesswork. Give the database enough memory for its buffer pool so frequently used data stays in RAM. On NVMe storage, even uncached queries return quickly.
Enable HTTP/2 or HTTP/3 for faster parallel loading of assets, compress text responses, and set sensible cache headers for images, scripts and stylesheets. These steps cost nothing and make a visible difference for visitors in Tallinn, Helsinki and across the Baltics.
Every website should be served over HTTPS. Browsers flag plain HTTP pages as not secure, search engines prefer encrypted sites and customers expect the padlock, especially when entering personal or payment details.
On your VPS you have two main options:
After installing a certificate, redirect all HTTP traffic to HTTPS, enable HSTS once you are sure everything works, and choose modern TLS settings. Check that renewal is automated and test it, because an expired certificate takes a site offline for most visitors as effectively as a server failure.
If your website uses a .ee domain together with other extensions, include every hostname, with and without www, in your certificates.
Caching is the cheapest way to make a website faster. A well-configured server can answer most requests without running application code or querying the database at all.
Remember to exclude carts, checkouts and logged-in areas from full-page caching, and to purge caches when content changes. Test with tools that measure time to first byte from Estonia and nearby countries.
Email is part of most hosting setups, and a VPS lets you handle it in whichever way suits your organisation.
Control panels typically include a mail server with webmail, spam filtering and IMAP access. This keeps everything in one place in Tallinn. To get reliable delivery, publish SPF, DKIM and DMARC records for each domain, ask about setting reverse DNS for your server's IP, and monitor that your IP address stays off blocklists.
Some businesses prefer to keep mailboxes with a dedicated email service and use the VPS only for websites. In that case, point MX records to the external provider and configure your website to send transactional messages through an authenticated SMTP relay.
Either way, the DNS records for your domain decide where mail flows. Keep them documented, and check them whenever you move a domain or change providers.
Backups are your safety net against mistakes, failed updates and compromised plugins. On a VPS you design the backup policy yourself, which means you can make it fit your business rather than accepting a generic schedule.
A sensible approach follows the 3-2-1 idea: keep three copies of your data, on two different types of storage, with one copy off the server.
Most importantly, test restores. A backup you have never restored is a hope rather than a plan. Practise restoring a site to a temporary subdomain every few months, and time how long it takes.
Agencies and freelancers often run many client websites from a single server. A VPS with dedicated resources is well suited to this, provided you organise it carefully.
With plans offering 6 to 24 cores, 10 to 32 GB of RAM and up to 400 GB of storage, one Tallinn VPS can carry a sizeable portfolio. When a client's site grows large, move it to its own VPS so both the client and the rest of your portfolio benefit.
Estonia's startup scene and its e-Residency programme have produced many young companies that are online from day one. Their websites range from simple landing pages to full SaaS products and online stores.
For these businesses, hosting on an Estonian VPS offers a few specific benefits:
Payment by card, PayPal, bank transfer or cryptocurrency makes it easy to pay from wherever founders are based, and ticket-based support suits teams spread across time zones. When the startup grows, the same server can scale to a larger plan without changing provider.

No. We do not run shared hosting plans. Websites are hosted on an Estonia VPS with dedicated vCPU and RAM in our Tallinn Tier III data centre. You can host one site or many on the same server, install the control panel you prefer and configure SSL, caching, email and backups to suit your projects.
Because you have full root access, you can install the control panel of your choice, whether a commercial panel with its own licence or a free open-source alternative. You can also manage the server without any panel. Check which operating systems your chosen panel supports and pick a matching Linux distribution when you order.
There is no fixed site limit; the practical limit is the server's resources. A small plan can host several low-traffic sites, while larger plans with up to 24 cores and 32 GB of RAM can carry a sizeable portfolio. Monitor CPU, memory and disk usage and move very busy sites to their own server.
Yes. You can install free automated certificates, for example from Let's Encrypt, using your control panel or a client such as Certbot, and renew them automatically. If your business prefers a commercial or organisation-validated certificate, you can install that instead. Either way, redirect HTTP to HTTPS and check that renewal works.
Yes. Each Estonia VPS comes with an Estonian IPv4 address and IPv6. Point your domain's A and AAAA records at those addresses and your site is served from Tallinn. Combined with a .ee domain and local content, that strengthens your presence for visitors and search engines in Estonia.
You can run email on your VPS using the mail server that comes with most control panels, or point your domain's MX records to an external mail provider. If you host mail yourself, publish SPF, DKIM and DMARC records and ask about reverse DNS for your IP to improve delivery to recipients' inboxes.
You control backups on your VPS. Schedule database dumps and file archives with your control panel or backup tools, store copies off the server, keep several generations and test restores regularly. Designing the backup plan yourself means it matches how often your content changes and how quickly you need to recover.
Website hosting is priced as the Estonia VPS plan you choose. Six plans are available, from US$95.95 to US$288.95 per month, each with dedicated vCPU and RAM, NVMe or RAID10 HDD storage, a 1 Gbps port and unlimited traffic. Commercial control panels or certificates, if you choose them, have their own licence costs.
